Michael Frederick is an Architectural Designer currently working in Los Angeles. Michael graduated with his Masters in Architecture from the University of California Los Angeles (2011). Prior to UCLA Michael received a four year Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at Miami University in Ohio (2006). In the two years between his architectural studies Michael worked for LMN Architects (Seattle, 2006-2008). A large portion of his work in Seattle was focused on Integrated Project Delivery and transitioning design teams into a Building Information Modeling work flow. Other responsibilities at LMN Architects included design, marketing, and product research responsibilities. Michael has also worked for a small product design and plastics fabrication team (Los Angeles, 2009-2011) as well as interned for Touraine Richmond Architects (Los Angeles, 2009). During his undergraduate studies Michael also worked as an architectural intern for GBBN Architects (Cincinnati, 2005). Michael has also had the privilege of being a teaching assistant at both Miami University (2005-2006) and UCLA (2010-2011) where he helped guide classes focused on representation techniques in Architecture and technology seminars focused on both digital and physical fabrication.
Michael has received numerous awards for design excellence, including the Potter Maxwell Wertz Excellence in Architectural Design Scholarship (2005), the Alpha Rho Chi Medal (2006), and First Place in the ACSA International Airport Competition (2006). His work has been published and exhibited at national and international events including the ACADIA Conference (2005, 2006), the Beyond Media Exhibition in Florence, Italy (2006) the Currents exhibit in Los Angeles (2009, 2010) and the Little Tokyo Design Week Exhibition in Los Angeles (2011).
