This gallery proposal explores the complex tension between American individualism and the demands of modern democracy. Democracy and society is represented by the rectilinear forms hanging above. These are contrasted by the shattered crystals below shimmering with the boundless knowledge of the universe beyond our own. The individual is suspended off axis just above the horizon reflecting customized impressions of the two ideological opposites as it slowly rotates.
